To refresh the parent window

I open one window from another like pop up. While opening the new window doing some process. So when I close the child window I must to refresh the parent one. How to do it? Where exactly I must wirte the script for this?

This can't be done with PHP, you must use javascript. There is a faq that covers exactly this, I have used it quite a bit on my PHP pages.
