hi i have a problem while sending information to the pages like this print("<a href=\"test.php?password=$password\">test</a>"); it shows the password and imp information at address bar i tried crypt() but i am confused with it, please help me
Dunno what you are trying to do ? Why would you send the password via a url ? Off course it is readable like that.
Btw, crypt is one-way, so no way to recover the password.
I suggest cookies. and using crypt. or just cookies. the problem about cookies on php is that it has to be set before any out put to the client. check the manual for details.
You should never ever store the password in any shape or form inside cookies. It serves no purpose.
Better to validate the password immediately and pass a cookie with a unique id which you can check.
There is a good tutorial on authentication on this site. have a look at it!
