help lynx execute php script in cron

I know the topic of executing a PHP script from cron has been addressed before, and in following those topics, I have come only this far: the line in my crontab looks like this

• TERM=vt100 lynx -source /home/sites/www.myserver.com/web/test.php

but the email I receive from the server is just a copy of the code in the script test.php. What can I do to get lynx to execute the script instead of just printing the source code?

Try giving lynx a URL instead of a filename.

That doesn't work in crontab. I can't install the crontab file because it says there is an error in the file. So all filenames have to be in a path.

euh? that is no filename, it is a parameter to lynx:

• * TERM=vt100 lynx -source http://www.bla.com/test.php

Do you mean that I need to use http://www.bla.com/test.php instead of /home/sites/www.myserver.com/web/test.php? I tried that format, and I got the error I mentioned.

Yes ofcourse.
Lynx is a browser, and the script is PHP, so if you want to get the output of the script, you will have tomake the browser request the page from the script.

If you get an error then you must have mae a typo somewhere. It works fine on my Linux system.

I've found that lynx may be ignoring the ?query part of your URL. All you have to do is quote the URL as in:

lynx -source 'http://my.site.com/page.php?name=value'
