Limit Textbox submission size

hi,

i am trying to limit the amount of characters a person can enter into a textbox on one row (without a space) before it forces a line break.

i have a site that displays ads and when someone trys to create a long successive string of characters for effect, it blows open the entire layout.

i have tried the Wrap attribute, but that is only for the physical appearence.

is there a command in mySql to limit it, or do i just have to spec a width fo rth ecell that the info goes into?

You can try some javascript to limit the width, but that can be disabled.

PHP has a function called wordwrap() which will chop the string at a max of X characters.
