extracting strings from text

Hi,

Here's my dilemma:

I have a text, say something like:

text asdf aksdf lasjdofho as;dlfjk alksdf domain1.com aldskf lks df domaindomain.com asldf sdf lsdf oijh'ahg domain3.com alsdf aslfdk mydomain.com

how would i go about extracting all of the domains and putting them into an array, so that it would equal something to:

$domain[0] = "domain1.com"
$domain[1] = "domaindomain.com"

and so on.

Not that this is not necessarily the 'elegant' solution, but I would load the entire string into an array, with the elements being separated by a space. Then, I would test each element of the array for whatever you define as the criteria for a domain name (do you know about regular expressions?) and drop those that don't meet the criteria.

You could use preg_match_all. Read the manual for details on the parameters.

It may take you a little time to figure out what the correct regular expression would be for all valid domain names though. But if you can do that, I think that preg_match_all is exactly what you want.
