php does not work with mysql

My php was not configured with mysql support. So i downloaded php-mysql-4.0.4pl1-9.i386.rpm and installed it. Then things were fine php worked well with mysql. But now all of a sudden php is not interacting with mysql. I dont even see an error message. Can anyone help. I tried reinstalling the same rpm again. BUt i get a message that it is already installed.

you could do 'rpm -e <packagename>' to remove the package first.

A better solution is to figure out what changed/what the problem is and fix it. Need more info.

What are you trying to accomplish? Do old apps that used to work (and haven't changed) NOT work anymore? Or are you writing code now that doesn't work? Maybe you 'all of a sudden' had a brain*&$! and that's where the problem is.
