When I sumbit my form, the descriptions can be quite long, so I am using the text type variable.

Anyhow sometimes there are carriage returns in the description. I want the carriage returns to be included in the records, so I when I re-display the information its formatted with carriage returns.

PHP will replace any carriage return with an "\n"

so when you retrieve the text from the databse you will need to run a simple ereg_replace like '$message = ereg_replace("\n", "<br>", $message);'
