What all PHP can do

Okay, I know PHP is very powerful... but I'm curious... HOW powerful? I know you can create messageboards (obviously or I wouldn't be here) and web based email, but can it create search engines and such? Can someone name some of the extremely useful things PHP does? Also, can PHP do basically what every other programming language can do (maybe even then some)? Thanks. Any info would be much appreciated.

I think it would be safe to say that PHP can do anything if not more than any other server-side language.

True... although it's still quite new, and lacks a full set of native classes, PHP can basically do anything any other server-side scripting language can do. DBs, XML, files, whatever :/ it's a really reliable language, actually, though its security could use some work. Never-the-less, there are always methods to stop crackers.

I went to www.php.net and I've noticed they've released version 4.1.0 and they say it's suppose to be better security wise... I'm sure they're working on bugs like that. =)

basically ANYTHING short of mouseovers and drag and drop.

It is VERY powerfull, FAST, clean, and FREE!
I rate it better than ANY scripting language, because whatever it can't do is just for show and is not needed.
