GetImageSize alternative?

hi,

I need to use GetImageSize to find the width and height of an image. Unfortunately, my ISP is lagging behind with PHP version 4.0.3 where this command doesnt work with a URL (only local filesystem files). Until they upgrade (I am bugging them!) is there another way I can get this info?

Q: why would you want to know the dimentions of a remote image?

You can check out this code snippet :

Just open the file remotely and read in the first X bytes and let the functions in the code snippet do the rest.
