drop-down dynamic list?

Hello, I am trying to grab info from my database that would say how many teams there are, and then a for loop gets that info and does the process that many times... which it inserts data into the drop down list. Here is a snipet of my code, it is coming up blank when I run the code.

for ($counter = 1; $counter < $teams+1; $counter++)
{
$teamcount = "Team" . $counter;
echo "<option value=$teamcount>$teamcount</option>";
}
print "</select>";
}

Look at your select statement, the problem may be there.

That worked out great! Now I have another question...

After it sets up the web page correctly, lets say someone chooses Team2. This may sound stupid, but how does the program know that they choose Team2, wouldn't it just turn their selection into a variable of $Team2?

Could you please help me in knowing what the person chose?

you need to name the select control. In this instance you would be "team". The variable to access this would be $team.
