require and execution times

i'm using require to include a php file that generates a calander on my webpage. I want each month to be displayed, so i'm using the following code. The problem is, it takes over 2 minutes (sometimes it even times out)to load the page!!! If i load up the calander with only showing one month, it takes about 2-3 seconds. Is there a better way of doing this? My calander code is pulling stuff from a mysql database, so i suppose that could be hanging things up as well..but still, it shouldn't take that long. Any ideas?

This would probably be much mor efficient if you just included mycalendar.php and called some function for each of the 12 times.

Your current method requires apache to spawn a new process just to handle the include. Not very efficient: 1 req -> 12 procs.
