hi everyone,

i have a question to the date function in php. Does anyone know from where the function get the date and the time ? because i am sure it does not take it from CMOS clock. It really does not seem like the system time. And if it is not the sys time, is there a way to tell the function to do that ?

It's the OS time, and the only place where the OS can get the time is the CMOS clock. but it can be overwritten by timezones and NTP servers.

but why is it different from the time which the unix command 'date' gives me ?
