PHP form validation

I am relatively new to PHP so aplogies if I say anything stupid!

I have a self submitting form which I need to validate using the 'ereg' functionality in PHP.

My question is how can I self submit the form for validation purposes when it is already a self submitting form?

Any help or direction greatly appreciated.

Well, passing a flag variable (i usually use $iteration) is one way, set it to 1 the first pass, 2 on the second....
