Detecting a Secure Connection

Anyone know if there is a way to detect if the current session has a secure or unsecure connection? I.E. If the user is on an unsecure connection I just want to forward them to https://www.foo.com/bar/

Searched yhrough the archives but couldn't locate anything....

I would think if you called the url and stripped it leaving the http and then check weather it's http or https

Ah ha, another answer to my own question... Simply use the $SERVER_PORT predefined var.... of couse default would be 80 and secure connection would be 443....

REQUEST_URI does not contain the http
