A page on my site takes a long time to process. I want to put up a "processing data" page while the CPU does it's thing. The problem is that if I have a redirect header on the processing data page, I can't actually have it spit out the HTML because the header has to be first. What can I do?

Maybe you could try this, but it comes without a waranty.

When you click on the submit button (if it is a form) have it pop up a new window that says processing form while the other page loads behind it. When the othe page loads add a java-script (I can't give it too you since I do not know java) somwhere in there that closes the pop-up message. That should be one way to get arround your problem. Someone that looks at this board must know java script, I hope they see your post.

I found a JavaScript code that does this but I'm trying to avoid using it. Perhaps I could first test to see if the site visitor has JavaScript activated. If so, I show them the loading page, otherwise they just have to sit and be patient without a friendly message. There has to be an alternative to this though. I'll post if i figure it out. Thanks for your reply.
