apache coding question

how do i get apache to recognize no file extension for php? I've asked this in the past, and have gotten an aswer, but i lost it.

for example, if you typed go?file=1, it would read go.php?file=1, but make it look like theres no extension..PLEASE HELP 🙂

If you are using apache,
you have to add mod_rewrite.
