Sessions <-> Server

Hello Experts!

If I use sessions - and the user suddenly decides to close the browser so that my instrcutions to stop the session with session_destroy() is never executed... then what? How will it be deleted from the server?????

i am using timeout and checking myself for a valid session. but its true - it wont be deleted before timeout.

i havent found the solution - seems like php never cleans the garbage or more possible: i didnt read the whole manual?

PHP is server side so theres no way of knowing the user has closed the browser.. you could use Javascript, but what about users that drop connection (dial-up)? You'll never be able to guarantee it. Sessions time out on their own.
