send a html tag to PHP

Hi all,
new to php and building a php script that give the user the option to build a little html page. The problem is that it is showing the "source" and not the result.

the user input is something like this:

<b>hello</B><br>I am new to the company<br>my mail adres is:<BR> <i>[e-mail]</I>

If I view the result it looks exact like in my input field and there is no sign of bold or italic text. in the generated page.

How do i solve this?

The bold function is working in this script but the <br> tag is not working??????
