Mail() function timestamp Errors HELP!

I've got the main mail() function to work properly. However, when the mail is sent the "sent:" timestamp is off by 10-12 hours. The system we have here is PHP/MySQL/Apache. The e-mail system here is Exchange 2000.

this is the mail() function I have:

mail( $email, "My e-Requests Notification", $message,

"To: $name\rFrom: My e-Requests Server\r\ncc: $ccmembers " );

The e-mail is sent out fine and quite promptly. It's the timestamp that is off. I'm going to try and set the time field with the headers.

I've checked the system time on the localhost and it is set correctly. I know that the timestamp is related to the server time (If I change the time on the server the timestamps change as well)

If anyone can help I would GREATLY appreciate it.

I've posted several times to this forum about the same subject and haen't received any replies. I've noticed on my server (Windows NT) that the problem exists but it doesn't exist on my Linux box.

I've done some research and found that there was an open bug report on this about a year ago and the problem should have been fixed in a later release of PHP for windows. I have the latest Windows release and it's still broken though. see http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=8909

It seems that the problem is that when PHP automatically adds the Date: header it inverts the GMT offset part of the time. (So for example in my case....eastern time zone.... the offset should be -0500 but PHP sets it to +0500 and all my mail is off by 10 hours)

I've partially fixed the problem by adding the Date: header in my mail script.

I'm about to make a post to see if I can get some help making a final fix.

Phew, thanks a lot for your message. I'm planning on doing the same thing and putting the reply in my subject header. I will look back here for any updates or u can e-mail me as well. Thanks for your help!
