Login & Cookies

Hi, I just make a login script and I would like to have cookies in use, what i need help with is getting th cookies to work something like this

$userinfo["username"] // output: Rayn

with cookies so that when a user logs on i can put their username and info anywhere without having to log in all the time. can anyone help?

PHP4 has built-in session functions that allow you to exactly what you asking. In fact this site has a tutorial on just that....

As jeremy said this can be done easily with sessions as well as with cookies. you can fix that "log in all the time" problem by adding another cookie to determine if they are logged on or not or you can just use the username cookie where you would test if it is set or not to determine if the person is logged in.

err.. I am having a problem now getting th cookies to be used at all. i use the setcookie() func but it wont work.
