Frames refresh

I have 2 frames, one names "Links" the other "Main" in the main frame, I have a login script, when the user logs on I want the links frame to refresh in order to display "Logout". How do I get the "Main" frame to refresh the "Links" frame without usings links or javascript?

You won't be able to. Anything like that (cross-frame communication, programmatic page redirects/refreshes) needs some client-side scripting - i.e., Javascript.
