SPACES IN URL

hey im making a sub profile with php and i cant get it to recognize screen names with spaces in them. it only takes name up until the space. i've even tries substr to take the URL from a certain point on but that wont work. somewhere before i even get to php, i think i am losing the rest of the screenname. can anyone help?

if the name is in the URL, you could try to use one of the functions here:
http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.url.php
