newbie radio button question

Hello,
i will start off by saying this is the first time i have ever used PHP.

What i have is a form that gets emailed out when submitted. I have radio buttons in this form. My problem is having the radio buttons show a yes or no answer in the email that gets received. My html code is now this

my corrsponding PHP code is this, it is the "do i want to preboard yes / no " that i am having problems with.

Another problem i have is that the end user filling out the form has to input the receivers email address into the form. I want the address to be their by default or even better, to be hidden . any ideas

you need to change your HTML to something like this:

<input type="radio" name="preboard" value="yes">yes
<input type="radio" name="preboard" value="no">no

radio button share the same "name" but have different "values". Then in the body of your email code you could have:

Do I want to preboard? $preboard

which would show either "yes" or "no"

Well em... off the bat I'd suggest you should do the following:

• use "echo" instead of "print"

• <input type="radio" name="preboard" value="1"> yes <input type="preboard" name="prod_id" value="0">no
  (you can also use the words yes/no as the value, whatever your choose)(radio buttons must have same name, but different values otherwise you can't group them)

• Once them have chosen one and the form is processed, do some output like:
  if ($preboard=="1")
  {
  echo "yes, I want to preboard";
  }
  else if ($preboard=="0")
  {
  echo "No, I don't want to preboard";
  }

this will output one of the 2 echo lines, depending on what they chose

• I'm not sure what you mean by default email adress, but once they've entered and email and you'd like to show an overview, you can use a hidden field
  <input type="hidden" name="emailorsomething" value="theirEmail"> or before parsing, try
  <input type="hidden" name="emailorsomething" value="<?php echo $theirEmail; ?>">

Your radio selection is based on the variable name

I would advise you to change this to something like "selection"

Then access the varible from the caling page like this

print $selection;

If I understand correctly, in your form you can place <input type="hidden" name="send_to_email" value="[e-mail]">

Once the form has been submitted you can then say something like, mail to $send _to_email
