includes with variables

hi all,
Looked long and hard but to no avail. Please help as i can't get the following to work, any assistance appreciated.

include('../include/varieties/$Crop.x');

reads in a drop down list of varieties for a particular crop ($Crop). Eg Varieties for cotton stored in the Cotton.x file. If i replace $Crop with Cotton works fine but won't accept the variable $Crop which is == Cotton??

You mean:
include("../include/varieties/$Crop.x");

if that doesn't work , try using your complete system path to the file from the root.
Or (never tried this myself so dunno if it works:-):

$myfilename = "myfile.x";
echo " include(/"../include/varieties/".$myfilename."/")/; ";
the question is how would php deal with this, is this a double parse or a serial parse?
