Accessing the cookie of a sub domain

I am currently working for a web site known as www.pcgcentral.com and I am trying to access a cookie set by forums.pcgcentral.com. I basically need to extract a variable from it and nothing more. if there is a command I can use it would be great. I'm new to php and looking for help despratly.

The process that created the variable on forums.pgcentral.com must specify the domain as .pgcentral.com, not forums.pgcentral.com, when it sets the cookie. If it does not do so, the browser will not send the cookie information to you for processing.
