Need to make a WORD .DOC file !!! URGENT

Hi,

I need to make Microsoft Word .doc files urgently.

This is needed to email people reports from a testing system.

There could be two ways of doing this.

1. Query the MySQL DB and then output it directly to the word file

or

2. Generate an HTML file as per usual, and then convert it to word

PLEASE SOMEONE GET BACK TO ME, THIS IS REALLY PRESSING AND I'M TEARING MY HAIR OUT!! lol 🙂

How about using .RTF, word does support .HTML too.

If your question is not urgent, then don't call it urgent.

and if you had even bothered to do some work yourself you would have found a gazillion posts (yes the search does in fact work) from other people who wanted to do the exact same thing, and you would have wrapped this up today. Well, yesterday by now I guess.

And please, don't give me that "if you can't help then shut up" crap. Read your original post again and you have to agree it just screams "flame me please".

I was unable to find a working script that would allow me to do the task to generate the word .doc files, or the .rtf files.

perhaps you could be a sweetie and advise? regrettably the search was of little help to me.

did you try www.google.com too?
There are 'plenty' of solutions to this, although most are not free (because it is quite a bit of work to create a word doc, due to it's completely zany structure)

Have you considered using PDF instead, the PDFlib is also not quite free, but much (read: MUCH) easier to work with.
