writing to password protected directory

I need to write to text file in a protected folder.

The username/password for that folder need to be sent (WITHOUT the user-authentication box popping up) so that the script can create/write the file.

Seems like there is VERY little info on the subject, can anyone help???

I take it the text file is on a remote server. HTTP authentication can be sent in the URL.

http://username:[e-mail]/dir/file.ext
