Select List as an Array

Greetings, all.

 First of all, I feel like a total noob for even asking this question, but I am having a bugger of a time getting it to work.  So, apologies extended in advance.

 What I have is a selection list on a form, allowing multiple item choice.  That works just fine.  However, when I read the value into the database, it is getting just the last value.  I need to read it in as an array, and I can't get it to work right.

 Anyone have any good advice on reading it in to the database?

i don't know if i understand your question,
but i'll give you an answer anyway. i think
that what your problem is is that you are trying
to save an array into your database. well, a
good way to save an array into a database is
to first serialize the data, and then save it
into the database. then when you want to
retrieve the data, you select it, then you
unserialize it, and viola, there is your array.
