send mail/SMS on a given day

Currently, I am working on a hotel reservation system, and emails or SMSs have to be sent to customers when the reservation period is due.

My problem is that can I REVOKE a piece of code to run(e.g. sending a mail) on a given day.

If "Yes", can you give me some hints on how to get it runs?

Well, eh, you give no specifics at ALL as to what you are doing, or why "revoking" it would even be a problem.

Perhaps you could clue us in to this?

After making the reservations, I would like to remind the customers ( 1 day ) before the reserved period with the reservation details.

However, I don't want it to be done by the administarator manually to send out such reminders.

Is there any method that the PHP + MySQL can check the date and send the reminders automatically?

Use a CRON job. CRON jobs make a process execute without any activation from a user. How did you get round sending SMS anyway? Any chance you can send me the code?

But I am using Windows 2000 IIS as my web server, so your solution won't work.

Is that possible to do that in Windows Server?
