how would I make it so that there is a:

    next 5

button at the bottom of my gallery. Say I wanted only 5 pictures to a page, how would I go about doing this? Im a newbie kinda, but I wrote a cool gallery script which takes a LONG time to load the page so I was wondering how to split it up in to different pages 🙂 Thanks in advance.

Just query your database and get the number of elements that are in your table (where your gallery is), then keep a hidden field in your page, and everytime you load a new one you can look at your hidden field and say... ok I visited the first 20, I have this many things in my table, then I need to start at the 21 index or something and grab the next 20 (Checking to make sure that you have that many elements in your table). I hope that makes sense. 🙂
