setlocale on Mac OS X

Hi!,

I´m successfully running XAMP on Mac OS X.
I have a problem with set_local("LC_TIME") though.
Whatever I use (ge, de_DE), nothing will change the output of strftime() to german.
It works on my Windows 2000 Box and on the Free BSD Webserver we are hosted.
Any Ideas if there´s something special with Mac OS X? I tried messing with the OS clock and language settings, nothing helped. A tutorial suggested looking into /usr/local/locale or something like that, its not even there on Mac OS X.
Its not all that important since its not a production system, but I wonder if anyone knows a solution.

Ups, I misspelled it in my post, its supposed to be setlocale("LC_TIME", "ge"), so thats not the reason why it doesn´t work on OS X.
