Hi Everybody,

I am using a PHP script to add news to my sites. When I add a news related to finance with the amount shown in $, then the $ is missing on the site. For example, there is an amount $1.5m. When I add this to my site, I can see only .5m. The $1 is some what deleted. Can anybody help me how to fix this problem?

PHP sees the $ and thinks it means there's a variable coming - so it treats $1 as a variable and prints it's content. Of course, since it doesn't exist nothing gets printed.

You can get around this by 'escaping' the $ by using \$, this tells PHP to treat the $ as a literal, ie just print it.
