filesize() function

When i use the filesize function i get this error:

Warning: stat failed for Resource id #1 (errno=2 - No such file or directory) in /usr/home/html/news/news.php on line 24

I know the file exsits because i can read and write to the file, but for some reason the filesize function doesn't work.

Looks like you are trying to get the filesize of a filepointer instead of a filename.

OK, now it doesn't give an a error, but it returns a filesize of 1. I know the filesize is larger then that.

Is that before or after you open the file?

If you are opening the file for writing, PHP will reset the file to zero length.

Try getting the filesize before you open the file, or open the file in read-only mode.
