Putting Variables in a Header

Dear Reader,

In a script I'm making now I use the header(Location: ...) function but when I put a variable in the header script it doesn't work.

Example

<?php
$var = "1";
Header("Location: http://127.0.0.1/new.php?var=$var");
?>

sends me to the following URL:
http://127.0.0.1/new.php?var=$var
in stead of
http://127.0.0.1/new.php?var=1

What to do?

?>

Hi,

Would it be possible to send a post to a location as shown in the code above, but actually redirect the user to a different location?

Basically i'm trying to take variables from a form and append them to an external URL, but actually send the user to a local thankyou page.

In effect sent the user locally, but also send an external post that is hidden from the user.

sure it is, but you'll need to use one of the post data classes that varioius people have written.

I looked at the article you suggested, but i'm a bit stuck as to how to actually implement it.

I need to pass 2 variables (message and number) from a simple HTML form to a URL in the form http://www.server.com/scrip.cfm?username=xxxxxx&password=xxxxxx&message=$message&number=$number

I can do this bit but can't get the script to redirect the user to a local page (I don't want them seeing the external URL above, as it has our username and password in it). Would it be possible for you to write the code down in a message? If it's going to be complicated, I'm more than willing to pay for any work, drop me an email if you're interested.
