using PHP to download

Hi all,

I'm not sure whether I'm way off with this one or not...

I'd like to use PHP to get hold of a webpage, download it as a file and then extract details from the file. The part I'm not sure about is whether there are any functions/functionality that would support the downloading of a complete file.

I've had a look through the online manuals but I can't find anything like this.

fopen() supports opening of remote files.

Thanks for your help Diego - fopen() seems to be on the right lines. I'll do some experimentation with it.
