using php as a mail gateway for sendmail

Hi,
I need to have a php script which will be piped to from sendmail, that can place the mail headers in certain columns on a mysql server. If you know how to receive a pipe from sendmail, please tell me. I have seen a lot of info about php piping, but it doesn't work to use one-line pipes.
