a href on another root

Hi,
Since I have not enought space on my disks, I had to store some info on another root (UNIX).
Now, on my web site, I did a kind of 'online tree' of what is contained in this root (with links to subfolders and files).

It works perfectly fine apart that I can't open files... Does anybody know what it could come from?
I use simple <a href></a> tags but I get a invalid path warning message :-( (I don't understand then why I can visualize the folders' contents???)

I tried to add file:\\ before the path, but it doesn't work either :-(
