Multiple page editor

Gday,
A friend and I are making a site at the moment, and we wanted to have a headlines bar down the site of the site which tells of the newest additions to the site, and links to them.

The problem with this is, we know no scripting other than HTML and Basic Javascript and would therefor have to edit each and every page or our site to get them.

What we really need is a script that will either embed one page into another, or have a site submission page that will submit our text into more than 1 existing .htm file.

Does anyone have a script that will do this?
Or is there anyone willing to script one for us?

Jake, there's tons of content-management software out there that can handle this. I'd suggest searching the web for "weblog software", you'll get tons of options.
