Adding date to mysql DB

I'm newbie at PHP & MySQL and I have following problem:

When I want to add date to datetime field in my table, it doesn't add it even if I format it to mysql's format with function date("Y-d-m H:i:s")

Can you suggest me what to do?

well, you can always use the SQL "NOW()" function

$sql = "INSERT INTO table (dateTime) values (NOW())";

works just fine for me, no stress no mess, it works for all date and time field types equally well... just think, you'll never have to format a timestamp for MySQL ever again 🙂
