Forms & Sessions

Hi all,

I appologise now if this has been asked 1,000,000 times before, but no matter how I try and refine my Google/PHP.net/PHPBuilder search, I cant find what Im looking for.

How do you pass sessions (as they are not stored in cookies) with forms?

Is it just a case of action="blah.php?<? echo SID ?>" or <input type="hidden" name="session" value="<? echo SID ?>">

Any help?

Hi Joel,

I am not sure on th efirst option (action= blah.php?SID=$sid), but the second certainly works.

The SID variable will already have the key name \"PHPSESSID\". As such, you can just use ACTION=\"blah.php?<?=SID?>\" Also, notice you can use just <?=SID?> to print the value of SID, instead of using echo. <?=$var?> will print the value of whatever $var is.

Not sure why it put escape slashes in front of my quotes.. maybe because I forgot to specify an author the first time and had to re-submit the message. Either way, you don't need those 🙂
