A point was brought up that I would like to discuss in hopes of finding a solution:
State management in PHP!

I believe that the question had to deal with an accounting program written in PHP. A response to the posed question was "...what about reloads?"

Is there a way to control the actions taken by a PHP script when the reload button on a browser is pushed?

Ideas?

I don't think so as thats client side, not server side, JS is your only hope for events like this, but personally I know of no such abilities present in JS, other than hiding the button in a pop-up window that is.

If the page is submitting anything, it is smart to check the subitted data anyway, so why not check for a replication of last submit?

You can also generate a submitidentifier and check for it versus your data, which makes it impossible to submit the same data twice.
