View individual record in MySQL

I need a way to be able to click a link and have a new page with just the record I clicked. You know like viewing an individual ID...I'm not sure how to do this so any help would be great.

Have 2 pages.

One page will take a list of IDs and list them. It'll also attach the ID to the link, as so:

<a href="details.php?id=12345">John Doe</a>

And then, your second page, details.php, will take that id and query the database for details and display it to the user.
