ftp sessions

hi,

I'm new to php & (programming) and am having a few problems with the php ftp functions.

I want to use one main page to display the current directory and file listing on the ftp server.
I get the initial logon directory listing fine, but everytime I reload the page, by referring to itself with the variables for a new directory I get the following error ....

Warning: Unable to find ftpbuf 0 in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\php\db\ftp.php on line 80

which would imply to me that the script has lost it's session with the ftp server.

are $conn_id 's lost when a page is refreshed.

I've tried numerous ways of passing the $conn_id as a variable but to no avail....

If anyone thinks having the code might help them solve this dilemna then I'll sort it out, but a cut down version it'll take a while

probably jsut being really dumb here, but maybe someone can help 🙂

Yeah, you have to reconnect everytime you load the PHP script.

seems a very round about and slow way of performing any ftp operations, if you have to re-login every time you need to change directory for example.

does anyone else know of a way to make the ftp session persistant until you actually log off ?
