Web Services, anyone?

Web Services are the buzzword right now, and I'm still wondering how that's actually going to influence my website development. We have the MS's .NET initiative and Sun's SUN ONE initiative.

This now might come from an ignorant's land but... does it make sense to talk about Web Services in PHP's domain? I'd like to hear a bit from u guys.

you forgot Ximians Mono initiative
which is the same as .net, but for *nix.

And yes, PHP is relevent.
I offer "web services" or more precisely realtime forking process servers made with PHP. You can't do this without a custom install of the CGI version of PHP.
But, they are also coming out with Streams for PHP as well.

Mind you, none of this is as robust as say Java or C++, but it's nice to know that it's there, and I for one am putting it to good use.
