Hello,

I want to use include in my PHP codes so that i don't include my username and password for my database.

Is there any configuration to be made? I am testing my php files on solaris and php version 4.1.2.

Or is there any coding that could help me ?

How are you supposed to talk to the database if you don´t include your username and password? And if I were you I should not name the include files .inc. Better name them .php :-)

Why?

I have inc and phtml files executing on one site (and php obviously). The other also runs wphp, but not phtml.

Add this to your .htaccess file in the main directory...

AddType application/x-httpd-php .inc .phtml

Just add on whatever extenstions you want, making sure there is space between each.

Oh yeah, but if your running this on a win32 system it probably won't work, at least my ME server (offline) doesn't like them, the Unix ones do though.
Of course if your running a live server on a Windowz system something not quite right :-)

As long as PHP is configured to execute .inc files you're okay...but...

The problem with storing PHP code/information in an include file with the extension .inc is that an individual could open the .inc file and see all your php code unparsed. Therefore you would be giving up all sensitive information if it is stored in the .inc files.

Well of course if you add the sufix to:

AddType application/x-httpd-php .inc .whatever

it´s fine :-) But I thought shailen didn´t know about these configure options (based on the question).

As I said in my post, if you setup an htaccess file as I said, it parses them...
