global dynamic variable

hi,
i'm defining a new variable using a dynamic name, the problem is i'm doing it inside a function and so need the scope to be outside of the function.
$$result=new product;
using
global $$result=new product;
i get a nice parse error..

any ideas?

$GLOBALS[$$result] = new product;

?

variable variables are cute, but how are you going to use them outside the function? You can only use a var if you know it's name, which means you must send the name of the var along, or create the name on the fly.

Maybe you're much better of using arrays instead.
