How to scan a computer for computername?

I have a dns2go adress, that updates whenever I go online.

I would like to have a php code that could find the computer name of *****.d2g.com

I mean, a ping isn`t good enough (Someone else can be online with the ip I had last time I was online, dialup)

My problem is that I don`t know how to scan an ip via PHP (for the computer name)

Example:
My computer is named "Kim".
Then I scan *****.d2g.com for the computer name. If computername is Kim, then i write "Kim is online".
