formatting text in textarea

Is it possible to enter html-code in a textarea with a command.
Like so:
When entering text in a textarea, and need to make a word appear in BOLD, I would like to click a button and then this would appear in the textarea where the cursor are: <B></B>

Is that possible? And if, how is it done?

no, it is not possible, that is like putting <b> in a textbox. Sorry.

Its not possible using standard html, if you wanted to go the Interenet Explorer only route, there are ways... =)
