Hi all,
I have been attempting to utilze the seesion variable on my page, and it looks like others are interested in using this attribute of PHP too.
I've read through the man pages numerous times, but unfortunatly, as stated in the second paragraph, I am not familiar with the PHPLIB session management.
I'm wondering if I and the others are heading down the right track by learning how to use sessions? Of course learning more can never be "wrong".
I myself just want to pass on a session variable when a link is clicked so my index page can "fill" in the content between the header and footer. In other words...if the variable passed equals "resume", the database is accessed and the directory and url of the resume page is obtained, then popped into include ($an[dir] / $an[url] .php)
My reason for attempting to use the sessions is so no matter what page you access, the address bar reads www.domain.com, not www.domain.com/?variable=value.
Funny how someone suggested to just use a frameset with one frame, which completely blew by me before. It's a wonderful idea, but I feel like challenging myself to learn sessions.
Any thoughts? Am I just being stubborn? (Don't really answer that LOL) Sessions look fun, but are rather intimidating to us "newborn" PHP apprentices.
