PHP 4.1.2 bug?

I've posted twice to this forum without much interest in my problem.

After upgrading to 4.1.2, my scripts which use sessions and objects in sessions don't work. They work great in previous versions of PHP -- is this a bug in the latest release?

Do I really have to upgrade? What is the real security risk, anyway?

Comments and ideas would be GREATLY appreciated!

The scoping of variables changed with PHP4.1, this is probably whats causing your problems. As for your security risk if you don't upgrade to php4.12 isn't that great if you PATCH your current version of php. That being said it is now only a matter of time till a script kiddy exploit tool come sout to test the hundreds of php enabled webservers out there with the old version of php. Your security risk only goes up with time.
